Vehicle Movement Of Several Roads In Colombo To Be Restricted Tomorrow (25)

Due to an International Marathon Race scheduled to
be held in Colombo  tomorrow (25) the vehicle movements in several roads in Colombo will be restricted from 5 a.m to 12 noon tomorrow (25) according to the Police.

Accordingly vehicle movements from  Chaithya Road in Colombo Fort,Galle Face Middle Road,Galle road,Colpe
tty junction to Dumriyapola Road,Marine drive  in Colpetty  to Wellawatte sea side area will be restricted.

Police have requested the Motorists to use an alternative routes when travelling during the above period .

A 16 Year Old School Boy Was Killed And Two Others Injured Due To A Head On Collision Between Two Motorcycles

A 16 year old school boy was killed and another too got
injured and hospitalized due to a head on collision between two motorcycles on Pallama-Wathupola road last night (23).

Three injured persons two Motorcycle riders and a pillion rider were admitted to the Chilaw Base Hospital for treatment where the school boy who was one of the Motorcycle riders had succumbed to his injuries.The pillion rider of his Motorcycle and 58 year old Motorcycle rider of other Motorcycle are currently receiving  treatment at the hospital.

The deceased and two injured persons have been identified as residents of Pallama area.

The Motor Traffic Division of Pallama Police are currently investigating over the incident.


Police Have Arrested 2564 Persons Over Various Crimes And Irregularities During A Four Hour Island Wide Raid

Police have arrested 2564 persons who have been suspected as responsible for various crimes and
 irregularities during a special four hour Island Wide raid carried out from 2 a.m to 6 p.m today (24) according to the Police Headquarters.

During the raid which was carried out under the instructions of Inspector General Of Police Pujitha Jayasundare,741 persons suspected as responsible for various crimes ,524 persons regarding involved in illegal narcotic trade,504 persons who were responsible for driving vehicles under the liquor influence, 120 persons who were issued arrest warrents ,71 persons who had transported sand without a valid license and 04 persons for keeping guns without a valid licence were arrested.

In addition 4735 legal cases were filed during the above period against vilolating motor traffic rules the Police Headquarters had stated.

One Of The Imprisoned Chief Suspects Of Cenral Bank Bond Scam Kasun Palisena Who Was Transferred To Prison Hospital Returns To Prison

Imprisoned chief suspect of the Central Bank Bond
Scam Kasun Palisena of Perpetual Treasuries who was transferred to the Welikada Prison after complaining a breathing problem and back problem had again return to the New Magazine prison in Borella today (24)after his breathing difficulty was cured  it has been reported.

Doctors of the prison hospital had recommended the Kasun palisena to participate a medical clinic on 05th March to check his back problem  and he is due to be admitted to the Prison Hospital again on 04th of March .

However his chief Arjun Aloysius who was also transferred to the Prison Hospital in Welikada over breathing difficulty  is still remained  in the hospital and due to return to Magazine prison shortly it has been revealed.
