A Youth Was Arrested Over Sexually Molesting A Female By Showing A Downloaded Facebook Photograph

Embilipitiya Police have arrested a 26 year old youth

over sexually molesting a female after downloading  a photograph of her from her facebook profile and threatening her to deface  the photo and publish it on the internet in Embilipitiya.

The suspected youth had raped the female time to time by showing the downloaded photograph of her and also taken Rs.10,000 from her it has been revealed.

Police have recovered half naked photographs of females including the photograph of molested female from the mobile phone of the suspect.

The suspect who is a resident of Embilipitiya area is due to be produced before the Embilipitiya Magistrate court.

Central Bank Bond Scam:Summons Issued To The Former Central Bank Governor Arjun Mahendran To Appear Before CID For The Second Time

Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne has
yesterday (16)issued summons for the second time to former Central Bank Governor Arjun Mahendran who is one of the main suspects of the Central Bank Bond Scam to appear before the CID to record a statement on  the Bond Scam issue on or before 08th of March.

The Magistrate has ordered the authorities to send the summons to the former Central Bank Governor via express mail or a courier service.

Fort Magistrate had earlier issued summons to the Arjun Mahendran who lives in Singapore to appear before CID on or before 15 th of February ,However he had failed to appear before the deadline .

The authorities have not been able to send the court order to the former Central Bank Governor via International Police at that time it has been revealed.


Chief Suspects Of Central Bank Bond Scam Arjun Aloysius And Kasun Palisena Were Further Remanded

The imprisoned chief suspects of the Central Bank
Bond Scam Perpetual Treasuries director Arjun Aloysius and it's Chief Executive Officer Kasun Palisena have been further remanded until 02nd of March by the Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne yesterday (16).

The two supects were further remanded after they were produced before the court yestrday and the Magistrate had also refused the bail application submitted to the court by their lawyers.

Both the suspects were arrested on 04th of February by the CID over their involvement in the Central Bank Bond Scam.

SLFP Still Not Able To Prove Their Majority To Form A New Government -Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe Has Stated He Is Still The Prime Minister

As the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP)lead by

President Maithripala Sirisena not able to show their majority in Parliament by yesterday (16)as earlier stated ,Prime Ministe Ranil Wikramasinghe has announced that as per the Constitution he is still the Prime Minister of the country with a majority of members in Parliament .

The national government will continue until 2020 and the ruling United National Party will implement speedy reforms in the party including building new leadership for the Party Prime Minister has stated during a special media briefing held at Temple Trees in Colombo last evening (16).

Ruling UNP will accept the warning given by the voters  during the recently cincluded local government elections and government will act according to it he has  stressed.

UNP is preparing to reshuffle the cabinet Prime Minister has stated.

Meanwhile President Maithripala Sirisena had cancelled the his scheduled nation to the speech and meeting with the heads of the  media institutions scheduled to be held yesterday (16)over the current political  crisis.President's party SLFP had stated earlier by last evening it will prove their majority in the Parliament and make the foundation to form a new government under the premiership of Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva.Joint opposition group representing Sri Lanka Podu Jana Peramuna lead by former president Mahinda Rajapakshe convey their unconditional support to a SLFP government.




Two Persons Were Killed Due To A Gun Shooting And An Assault Incident Near Hulftsdorf Court

A 39 year old person was killed due to a gun shooting
incident near the Hulftsdorf Magistrate Court in Keselwatte this evening (16) and the gunman was also killed later due to the assaulting of residents of the area.

Both the deceased had succumbed to their injuries at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Accident service attached to Colombo National Hospital.

A 24 Hour Long Water Cut To Be Implemented In Colombo-01 To Colombo -11 Tomorrow (17)

A 24 hour full water cut will be imposed in areas
belonging to Colombo 01 ,02,03,04,05,06,07,08,09,10 and 11 and a 24 hour water restriction with low preasure water supply will be implemented in Colombo -12 and Colombo-13 from 9 a.m on Tomorrow (17) to 9.a.m on Sunday ,due to an urgent maintainance work of the main water pump belongs to Ambathale Water purification Center runs up to Maligakande area.

  The National Water supply and drainage board has requested the public lives in those areas to collect much water as possible to use during the water cut.
