Minister Sagala Ratnayake To Step Down From His Ministerial Portfolio

The Minister of Law and Order Sagala Ratnayake has decided to step down from his Ministerial Portfolio according to reports.Minister has already informed on his decision to the United National Party(UNP) Parliamentary Group.

A Three Wheeler Was Taken In To Custody Over Travelling In Southern Expressway

The Southern Expressway traffic police had today
(14)arrested a Three Wheeler driver and taken in to custody his Three Wheeler after the Three Wheeler was illegally running in the Southern Expressway ,at Kottawa entry of the Expressway.

The Three Wheeler had entered the Expressway illegally from Athurugiriya entry of the Expressway and as the traffic police requested the  driver to turn back the vehicle it ran towards the Kottawa entry it has been revealed.However the traffic police chased the Three Wheeler and arrested the driver at Kottawa entry.

The suspected driver was handed over to the Homagama Police for further action.

An Eighteen Year Old School Girl Was Gang Raped In Ragala

An eighteen year old School Girl was abducted and
gang raped by four persons at Halgranwatte area in Ragala,Nuwara Eliya yesterday (13)according to the Police.

 Police have arrested four persons over the incident and they are due to be produced before the Walapane Magistrate Court.

The victim was admitted to the Nuwara Eliya Base Hopital .
