A Risk Of Spreading A Fungus In A Section of Katapath Pawura
There's a risk of spreading a variety of fungus in a
section of the "Katapath Pawura"(Mirror Wall) attached to the historical Sigiriya Rock according to the local researchers involved in conservation activities in Sigiriya.
Accordingly the Chemical conservationists attached to the Archeology Department and researchers attached to the Kelaniya University had begun conservation activities of the Katapath Pawura to avoid spreading of the fungus.
The subject minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam was already informed on this by the researchers and Minister has said that if the service of a foreign expert needed for the ongoing conservation activities in Katapath Pawura he will take an action to bring an expert from a foreign country .
