Two Masons Died After A Soil Mount Collapsed Over Them

Two Masons have died after a soil mount had
collapsed over them while making a Public Well at Pansalgoda area in Beliatta this morning (25).

The two deceased had been identified as residents of Walasmulla area of the ages 32 and 35 years old.

The bodies of the deceased are in Hathbodiya Hospital for the Post Mortum.Beliatta Police are conducting an investigation over the incident.

Police had fired tear gas and water cannons to
disperse the Anti SAITM Protest march of University Students short while ago  after the protesters attempting to March towards the Prime Minister's Official Residence "Temple Trees" by breaking the road barricades at Colpetty junction.

However the protesters are  still protesting near the Colpetty Junction it has been reported.

Due to the firing of tear gas and water cannons a large number of office workers who are off for the day and on the way to nearby train station have been faced severe difficulties it has been reported

Two Courts had yesterday issued two stay orders as per the request of Police to avoid the Protest March from entering Colombo.

Galle road had closed from Colpetty
junction due to a Anti SAITM Protest march of Universiy Students which heading towards Colombo according to the Police.

Despite the two stay orders issued by the Colombo Fort and Gangodawila Magistrate courts yesterday  (24) the protest march which organized by the Inter Universiy Stidents Federatoon (IUSF )had commenced in front of Jayawaradanapura University this noon (25),

Due to the protest March heavy traffic congestion had been reported in Wijerama Junction in Nugegoda .

International Football Trophy 2018 Displayed In BMICH Yesterday

The 2018 International Football Cup (FIFA)Trophy
which brought to Sri Lanka by a special flight on Tuesday (23)night was displayed to Sri Lankan Football fans from 9 a.m to 2 p.m at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) yesterday (24).

A large crowd  arrived in BMICH to view the Football world's prestegious trophy and  Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe had also graced this occassion .

The Trophy was eatlier handed over to the President Maithripala Sirisrna after it brought to Sri Lanka by International Football Federation (FIFA) Officials.

The Trophy was taken to Maldives yesterday after  displaying here.

The Trophy is due to visit 91 cities across 51 countries throughout the globe.The tour of carrying the International Football Trophy begun from Lindon,United Kingdom on 22nd.

Inter University Students Federation To Conduct The Protest March As Scheduled Despite Two Stay Orders

Although two stay orders were issued to avoid the Anti
SAITM Protest march  to be held today (25)from entering Colombo,the scheduled protest march will be held as planned according to the Inter University Students Federation.

Through the stay orders issued against the protest march Colombo Fort and Gangodawila Magistrate Courts banned the Protest march which begin in front of Jayawardanapura University today from entering Colombo.
