A Defender Jeep Had Met With An Accident At Minneriya

A Defender Jeep traveling in Polonnaruwa-Habarana main road had veered off the road near Minneriya area this noon(19) and crashed into a Canal and a Wall of a House it has been reported.

Hoover no one in the Jeep injured due to the incident and the Jeep had seen toppled over the road according to the Police.

A Person Was Sentenced A Five Year Impriosnment Suspended To Two Years Over Abduction And Raping Of A Girl

Jaffna High Court Judge M.Ilanveliyan had today(19) sentenced a person who found guilty over forcibly abducting a girl and raped her in 2011 ,a five year rigorous imprisonment suspended to two years and imposed a Rs.25,000 fine over him. The prison sentence was imposed over abduction and sexual molestation charges.

The High Court Judge has stated by delivering the verdict that if the accused fails to pay the Rs.25,000 fine he will be remanded for further three month period.

The prosecutors have failed to provide substantial evidence against the accused over the incident and after the Attorney General had handed over the case to the Jaffna High Court the accused had accepted that he had committed the crime.

Eighteen Female Sex Workers Have Been Arrested In A Brothel House

Welikada Police have last evening (18)arrested 18 female sex workers and two managers attached to a Brothel House maintained in a pretext of a Ayurveda Massage Center(SPA) at a two storied building in Nawala,Nugegoda .

One of the managers that have been arrested is a Ayurveda Doctor it has been revealed.

The arrested female sex workers are of the ages 19 -44 years old and the raid was carried out as per a search warrant issued by the Hulftsdorf Magistrate Court.

The suspects are residents of various parts of the country and they are due to be produced before the Hilftsdorf Magistrate Court today(19).

An Unidentified Person Has Died After Falling Down From A Third Floor Of A Three Storied Building

An unidentified Person has died after falling down from a third floor of the three storied building belonging to an Educational Institute situated at Galle Road ,Panadura last night(18) it has been revealed.

Police have suspected that the deceased might have entered the Building by breaking the front door of the Education Institute in upper floor and may have fallen down to the ground after coming out by breaking the glass of the back door .

Varicose veins are veins that have become enlarged and twisted. The term commonly refers to the veins on the leg, although varicose veins can occur elsewhere. Veins have pairs of leaflet valves to prevent blood from flowing backwards (retrograde flow or venous reflux). Leg muscles pump the veins to return blood to the heart (the skeletal-muscle pump), against the effects of gravity. When veins become varicose, the leaflets of the valves no longer meet properly, and the valves do not work (valvular incompetence). This allows blood to flow backwards and they enlarge even more. Varicose veins are most common in the superficial veins of the legs, which are subject to high pressure when standing. Besides being a cosmetic problem, varicose veins can be painful, especially when standing. Severe long-standing varicose veins can lead to leg swelling, venous eczema, skin thickening (lipodermatosclerosis) and ulceration.

Although life-threatening complications are uncommon, varicose veins may be confused with deep vein thrombosis, which may be life-threatening.
