A Mother And Son Arrested With A Haul Of Heroin

Police Officers attached to Anti Fraud Unit of Galle Police have arrested a Mother and son over transporting 37,815  grammes of Heroin to sell at Welwatta in Galle .

The estimated value of the haul of Heroin taken in to custody is around Rs.700,000 it has been revealed.

Police Have Arrested Three Persons Over Pasting Of Election Posters

Police have arrested three persons including the former Chairman of Ududumbara Pradeshiya Saba who is contesting for the Ududumbara Pradeshiya Saba from "Podu Jana Eksath Peramuna" led by former President Mahinda Rajapakshe at Ududumbara -Kandy main road while pasting election posters over violating election laws.

Police have also taken into the Custody the Cab vehicle the suspects arrived in and 83 election posters in their possession.The suspects are due to produce before the Theldeniya Magistrate Court.


A 46 Year Old Person Was Killed After Colliding With A Train

A 46 year old person was killed after colliding with a Train running from Jaffna to Mount Lavinia near the Beach Wadiya Rest in Wellawatte last night .

The deceased was a resident of Wellawatte area it has been reported.

Former Justice Minister Wijedasa Rajapakshe Had Resigned From The Constitutional Council

The UNP MP had informed the President Mahinda Rajapakshe on his decision by a letter it has been revealed.

He has served as the Prime Minister's representative in the Constitutional Council since 09th of September 2015 and his term is scheduled to be ended on 09th of September 2018.
