Police Have Arrested Three Persons Over Pasting Of Election Posters
Police have arrested three persons including the former Chairman of Ududumbara Pradeshiya Saba who is contesting for the Ududumbara Pradeshiya Saba from "Podu Jana Eksath Peramuna" led by former President Mahinda Rajapakshe at Ududumbara -Kandy main road while pasting election posters over violating election laws.
Police have also taken into the Custody the Cab vehicle the suspects arrived in and 83 election posters in their possession.The suspects are due to produce before the Theldeniya Magistrate Court.

Former Justice Minister Wijedasa Rajapakshe Had Resigned From The Constitutional Council
Former Justice Minister and United National Party MP Wijedasa Rajapakshe has decided to resign from the membership of the Constitutional Council he has announced today(28).
The UNP MP had informed the President Mahinda Rajapakshe on his decision by a letter it has been revealed.
He has served as the Prime Minister's representative in the Constitutional Council since 09th of September 2015 and his term is scheduled to be ended on 09th of September 2018.

An Indian National Was Arrested With A Haul Of Heroin
Airport Customs Officers have this morning(28) arrested a 32 year old Indian National with 212 Grammes of Heroin in possession at the Katunayake,Bandaranaike International Airport .
The 32 year old suspect arrived in from Chennai,India had hidden the haul of Heroin inside a side pocket of his bag according to the Customs.
The estimated value of the haul of Heroin is around Rs.2.1 million it has been revealed.
