A 46 Year Old Person Was Killed After Colliding With A Train

A 46 year old person was killed after colliding with a Train running from Jaffna to Mount Lavinia near the Beach Wadiya Rest in Wellawatte last night .

The deceased was a resident of Wellawatte area it has been reported.

Former Justice Minister Wijedasa Rajapakshe Had Resigned From The Constitutional Council

Image result for wijedasa rajapaksaFormer Justice Minister and United National Party MP Wijedasa Rajapakshe has decided to  resign from the membership of  the Constitutional Council  he has announced today(28).

The UNP MP had informed the President Mahinda Rajapakshe on his decision by a letter it has been revealed.

He has served as the Prime Minister's representative in the Constitutional Council since 09th of September 2015 and his term is scheduled to be ended on 09th of September 2018.

An Indian National Was Arrested With A Haul Of Heroin

Image result for arrestedAirport Customs Officers have this morning(28) arrested a 32 year old  Indian National with 212 Grammes of Heroin in possession at the Katunayake,Bandaranaike International Airport .

The 32 year old suspect arrived in from Chennai,India had hidden the haul of Heroin inside a side pocket of  his bag according to the Customs.

The estimated value of the haul of Heroin is around Rs.2.1 million it has been revealed.

Sri Lanka Is Currently Facing A Fertilizer Shortage-Agriculture Minister

Sri Lanka is currently facing a fertilizer shortage due
to the delay of arriving the stock of fertilizer  ordered from Pakistan according to the Minister of Agriculture Duminda Dissanayake.

The shortage will be eased after arriving the ship carrying Fertilizer to Colombo Harbour  on this Saturday (30) he has stressed.

An Excavator Operator Was Killed Due To An Electrocution

An Excavator Operator was killed due an electrocution
while engaged in development work of the  Mahamodara Canal cleaning project in Galle yesterday (27).

The operator was electrocuted after  the steel plate he had lifted through the Excavator machine was colliding with a high voltage electricity line .

He was pronounced as dead after admission to the Intensive Care Unit of Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.
