Twenty Three Indian Fishermen Have Been Arrested While Illegally Fishing In Sri Lankan Waters

Sri Lanka Navy have arrested 23 Indian Fishermen while involved in illegal fishing in Sri Lankan Waters at Delft Sea area in Jaffna early this morning(12).

Navy have also taken into custody the five boats the arrested Indian Fishermen have arrived in and both the Fishermen and the Boats were handed over to the Fisheries Office  in Jaffna.

The suspected Indian Fishermen along with their boats are due to be produced before the Kayts Magistrate Court later today(12).

Hatton Magistrate Has Ordered The Police To Arrest MP Arumugam Thondaman's Son Over An Assault Incident

Hatton Magistrate has ordered to arrest the Arumugam Jeevan Thondaman the son of Ceylon Workers Congress Leader MP Arumugam Thondaman over attacking a group of supporters of the National Workers Congress at a funeral house in Maskeliya area on 07th of December.

Another four members of the Ceylon Workers Congress including it's Vice President M.Rameshwaran were released on a personal bail of Rs.100,000 each by the Magistrate after been produced them before the Court following their surrender to the Police.

 The person who got injured due to the attack is currently receiving treatment in Kandy Teaching Hospital.

Sri Lankan Air Lines To Begin Direct Flight To Switzerland From Next Year

Sri Lankan Air Lines is due to begin a special direct flight to Switzerland from Colombo from next year (2018) according to the sources.

Accordingly a direct flight will begin from Colombo to Zurich,Switzerland twice a week and this flight will help to strengthen the Flight services with other European countries as well it has been revealed
