A Cyclist Was Critically Injured Due To A Bicycle-Car Collision

A cyclist was critically injured and hospitalized after
the Bicycle he was paddling colliding with a high speed Motor Car in front of the Vavuniya Airforce  Base this morning (09).

The injured Cyclist was admitted to the Vavuniya Hospital.

Vavuniya Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.


Third And Final Reading Of The Annual Budget Had Been Passed With Majority Of 99 Votes

The third and final reading of the 2018 Annual Budget
has been passed with a majority of 99 votes at the Parliament today (09).

During the vote 155 MP's voted for the budget while 56 MP's had voted against it.only 211 out of the 225 MP's of the Parliament had voted and Joint Opposition MP's were  voted against it.

The 2018 Budget proposals oposals have been passed with amendments the speaker Karu Jayasuriya has announced.

A Czech National Was Arrested While Staying In Sri Lanka With Expired Visas

Police Officers attached to the Colombo Fraud
Investigations  Division had arrested a Czech national who has been overstaying in Sri Lanka after expiry of his visas.

The Foreign national was arrested in Canal Road at Colombo Fort.

Black Rain Had Fallen Into The Kuttiyagala Village

A rain black in color had fallen into a Kuttiyagala
village in Siyambalanduwa Divisional secretariat this morning (09)according to the Disaster Management Center.

However no harmful incident has been reported due to the rain it has been revealed.

The relevant officials had visited the village after been informed of the black rain and sent the samples of rain drops collected for investigations the Center has stated.


A Chinese National Arrested In Airport With More Than Rs.11.5 Million Singapore Dollars

Airport Customs officers had arrested a 25 year old
Chinese National  while attempting to smuggle a large amount of Singapore Dollar notes to Singapore at Katunayake, Bandaranayake ,In ternational Airport this morning (09).

The value of the Singaporean Dollar notes taken into custody in possession of the suspect is more than Rs. 11.5 million it has been revealed.
