A Stock Of War Equipment Hidden Inside A LTTE Bunker Destroyed In Mulathivu

  Pudukudiiruppu Police officers along with Mulathivu
Special Task Force Personal had jointly destroyed a stock of war equipment recovered from a Bunker belongs to LTTE in Udayaarkattu Kuruvil forest in Mulathivu area.

The equipment hidden inside the Bunker includes 24 Personal pressure bombs,two hand bombs and  gun proof covers had been destroyed as per a court order issued by Mulathivu Magistrate Court acccording to the sources.

Security forces believed that the LTTE Members may have hidden the  war equipment inside the bunker and fled away  in the face of  Army attacks during the war  in North.

Two Officers Attached To A Pradeshiya Sabha Arrested Over Attempting To Accept A Bribe From A Businessman

Bribery commission officials had today (24)arrested a
secretary and a Development Officer attached to the Walapane Pradeshiya Sabha over attempting to accept a Rs.25,000 bribe from a businessman of the area .

The two officers had attempted to accept the bribe for allowing the Businessman to break a huge rock in a land belongs to the Land Commission.

A No Confidence Motion Was Handed Over By JVP MP's Against Minister Musthpha

A no confidance motion signed by five out of the six
Jaantha Wimukthi Peramuna (JVP)MP's against the Minister of Provincial Councils Faizar Musthapha had been handed over to the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya on friday (24).

The No confidence motion was handed over against Minister Musthpha over attempting to delay the local government elections through a gazette notification. JVP MP Bimal Ratnayake not been able to sign the motion as he is currently away from the country.

Earlier Joint Opposition group also handed over the speaker a no confidence motion against MP Musthpha.

A Brother And Sister Had Drowned While Bathing In Mamaduwa Wewa

A brother and a sister of the same family had drowned
while bathing in Mamaduwa Wewa in Vavuniya this noon (24) it has been reported.

The 17 year old sister has drowned first when she was bathing in a deep area of the river and her 27 year old brother too had drowned  while attempting to save her.

The sister and brother were residents of Kovilkulam in Vavuniya.
