Cabinet Sub Committee Report On Recent Petrol Shortage To Be Handed Over On Tuesday

The report of the three member Cabinet Sub
Committee appointed to look in to the recent Petrol crisis is due to be handed over to the President Maithripala Sirisena on this Tuesday (14).

The three member Cabinet Sub Committee comprising of Ministers Dr.Sarath Amunugama (Chairman),Patali Champika Ranawake and Anura Priyadarshana Yapa had prepared the report based on the findings of preliminary investigations they had carried out regarding the recent Island Wide Petrol shortage.


Three Persons Had Fallen Sick And Hospitalized After Consuming A Mushroom Curry

Three persons including a small child had fallen sick
and hospitalized after consuming a cooked  Mushroom curry prepared from an unknown variety of Mushrooms collected from a jungle area for lunch today (12)in Budugekanda village in  Kandakatiya area(Badulle District).

The three who had fallen sick after consuming the Mushroom Curry had been admitted to Kandakatiya Hospital with the symptom of vomitting .

Two Persons Were Arrested With 100 Kilo Grammes Of Kerala Cannabis

Two persons who have been transported around 100
kilo grammes of Kerala Cannabis in a Luxary Bus from Jaffna to Colombo were arrested along with the stock of Kerala Cannabis at Kanagarayankulam area on Jaffna-Kandy road today (12) by the Kanagarayankula m Police.

Police have raided the bus as per an information received by them.

The estimated value of the stock of Kerala Cannabis taken into custody  is more than Rs.three billion it has been revealed .

A Cyclist Was Killed And 19 Bus Passangers Injured Due To A Road Accident

A cyclist was killed and 19 Bus passangers were
injured 07 of them critically and hospitalized due to an accident involved by Bus,Cycle and a Van  at Namalgama-Welikanda are on Polonnaruwa-Batticaloa main road last night (11).

Out of the 19 injured Bus passangers  07 of the critically  injured have been admitted to Polonnaruwa General Hospital and 12 were admitted to Welikande Hospital and later discharged from the Hospital it has been reported.

The accident occurred when a Sri Lanka Transport Board Bus travelling Kandy to Batticaloa attempting to save a Van which run over a  Bicycle and  as a result veered off the road and fallen in to a canal.

The deceased cyclist had been identified as a 38 year old person and his wife who was in the Bicycle among those citically injured .

Welikanda Police had arrested the Van driver who is responsible for the accident .
