SATHOSA Begun Selling Two Varieties Of Rice And Dhal For Reduced Prices

As the 100,000 metric tonnes of Rice had been already
imported to Sri Lanka State owned Lanka SATHOSA outlets begun selling two varieties of Rice as well as Dhal for reduced prices since yesterday (01)according to the Minister of Industries and Commerce Rishad Baduideen.

Accordingly a Kilo of Samba Rice wil. Be sold for Rs.78 and a Kilo of Nadu Rice for Rs.73 .A Kilo of Dhal will be sold for Rs.148 Minister has stated.

The number of Lanka SATHOSA outlets in the country is due to incr Teease upto 500 from 370 by next year he has stressed.

Vice Chancellors Of 15 State Universities Had Accepted The Solutions Provided To SAITM Crisis

All the vice chancellors of the 15 state universities had
yesterday (01)accepted the solutions provided to the SAITM Crisis by president Maithripala sirisena and mentioned the solutions as an optimistic and fair.

Due to the solutions provided to the SAITM Crisis the Vice Chancellors had urged the all medical students to end their class boycot launched by demanding solutions to the SAITM Crisis in January this year and begin their studies as  soon as possible.

Issuing Of Drugs In Government Hospital Pharmacies Had Been Paralyzed Yesterday (01)Due To The Strike Acttion Of Pharmacists

Issuing of drugs to the patients of OPD (Out door
patients department) clinics and wards in government hospitals had been paralyzed yesterday (01)due to the island wide one day token strike launched by the Government Pharmacists.

The strike caused severe hardships to patients as patients of OPD Clinics in government hospitals not been able to get drugs from OPD Pharmacies it has been reported.

Meanwhile due to the strike,State Pharmaceuticals corporation had taken steps to issue drugs free of charge to government hospital OPD patients during yesterday through the all State Pharmacies(Osusal) island wide it has been reported.

The strike which launched to oppose the Health Ministry's decision to suspend the Clinical Pharmacology therapy course conducted at Post Graduate Institute Of Medicine in Colombo is due to be ended at 8 a.m today (02).

The Government Pharmacists Union has decided to launch a two day island wide strike on 15th and 16th of November with the participation of four other professions belonging to Professions Supplementary To Medicine if the authorities fails to restart the course suspended by them according to the president of the Union Ajith Thilakaratne.

A Pakistani Couple Arrested With 2.7 Kilo Grammes Of Heroin In Katunayake Airport

A Pakistani Couple was arrested by the Police
Narcotic Bureau officers while attempting to smuggle in 02 kilos and 766 grammes of Heroin concealed deep inside the luggage at Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport this morning (01).

The Couple arrived in from Lahore,Pakistan had attempted to smuggle in the haul of Heroin in to the country worth more than  Rs.30 million it has been reported.

Later they were produced before the Minuwangoda Magistrate Court and the court granted permission to the Police Narcotic Bureau to question them while keep in  detention for seven day period.
