Issuing Of Drugs In Government Hospital Pharmacies Had Been Paralyzed Yesterday (01)Due To The Strike Acttion Of Pharmacists

Issuing of drugs to the patients of OPD (Out door
patients department) clinics and wards in government hospitals had been paralyzed yesterday (01)due to the island wide one day token strike launched by the Government Pharmacists.

The strike caused severe hardships to patients as patients of OPD Clinics in government hospitals not been able to get drugs from OPD Pharmacies it has been reported.

Meanwhile due to the strike,State Pharmaceuticals corporation had taken steps to issue drugs free of charge to government hospital OPD patients during yesterday through the all State Pharmacies(Osusal) island wide it has been reported.

The strike which launched to oppose the Health Ministry's decision to suspend the Clinical Pharmacology therapy course conducted at Post Graduate Institute Of Medicine in Colombo is due to be ended at 8 a.m today (02).

The Government Pharmacists Union has decided to launch a two day island wide strike on 15th and 16th of November with the participation of four other professions belonging to Professions Supplementary To Medicine if the authorities fails to restart the course suspended by them according to the president of the Union Ajith Thilakaratne.
