Two STF Sub Inspectors Were Killed And A Female Was Injured Due To Motor Car-Train Collision

Two sub inspectors attached to the Special Task Force(STF) were killed and a female has been critically injured and hospitalized due to a Motor Car they were traveling in collided with a train traveling from Matara to Maradna at a  railway crossing in  Andagala , Ambalangoda  between Ambalangoda and Balapitiya area this evening(30).

The injured female is wife of one of the Sub Inspectors who was killed due to the accident it has been revealed.

Three persons have been critically injured and hospitalized after the Cab they were traveling in colliding with a Cement Lorry parked Police Check point at Baththuluoya on Chilaw-Puttalam road early this morning(30).

Police Have Taken Into Custody A US Naval Officer lIe Down In Colpetty Under The Influence Of Liquor

Police have last night(29) taken into custody a US Naval officer attached to a US War Ship arrived in Colombo Harbor ,while lying  down near a house in Colpetty under the heavy influence of Liquor .

The US Naval Officer who had toured in Colombo City last night(29) with a group of his fellow Naval officers had fallen down to ground due to the liqour influence according to the Police.

The drunken Officer had been handed over to the Sri Lanka Navy by the Police through the US Embassy in Colombo it has been reported.

Around 24 Female Garment Factory Workers Were Injured Due To A Private Bus-Milk Bowser Collision

Around 24 female Garment Factory Workers have been injured and hospitalized due to a head on collision occurred between a Private Bus transporting Female Garment Factory Workers to Jaffna from Vavuniya and a Milk Bowser transporting Milk to Vavuniya from Jaffna between Omanthai and Puliyankulam   on A-9 Road in Jaffna this morning(30).

The injured female workers have been admitted to the Vavuniya Hospital for treatment.
