Acting Bambalapitiya Grama Sewa Officer And His Assistant Arrested Over Accepting A Bribe Had Been Remanded

The acting Grama Sewa Officer in Bambalapitiya and

his assistant who were arrested by the Bribery Commission officials yesterday (23)over accepting a Rs.20,000 as a bribe to enter a person's name to a electoral register had been remanded until 07th of November by the Colombo Chief Magistrate today (24).

Acvordingly the acting Grama Sewa Officer Chandana Bandara Ekanayake and his assistant Rengasamy Chandrakumara have been remanded after being produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate Lal Ranasinghe Bandara.

Perera has today (24)fined Two Indian Nationals over brought 4300 foreign Cigarette sticks to Sri Lanka without paying taxes and keep them in their possession .

Accordingly both the suspects had fined Rs.20,000 each over the charges.

Sri Lanka's first National Epilepsy Center built at a cost

of Rs.46,000 billion in Colombo National Hospital has been innaugurated by the President Maithripala Sirisena and Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne this morning (24).

Around 85% of the cost spent to built the 10 storied Center had provided by Saudi Development Fund as a loan and the rest of the cost provided by Sri Lankan government according to the Ministry Of Health.

The center is equipped with modern medical facilities including a neuro clinic,neuro pharmacy,EEG Unit,Public communication system and Health Education Unit.

The center has also equipped with an international standard Seminar hall.
