Airport Police Arrested Sixty Persons Behaved Freely At Katunayake Airport Premises

Katunayake Airport Police had arrested around 60
persons behaved freely with authority at the Katunayake Airport premises and produced before Minuwangoda Magistrate Court yesterday (03).

After being produced before the court the Minuwangoda acting Magistrate Priyanthi Liyanaarachchi had been imposed a fine of Rs.90,000 on them ,Rs.1500 fine per person.

Two Persons Arrested With Gold Biscuits And A Chain At Colombo-Katunayake Expressway

Police have arrested a man and woman with a eight
pound chain and eleven gold biscuits in their possession  at the entry road of Colombo-Katunayake expressway .

The suspects who are residents of Colombo have been arrested while attempting to smuggle the gold weighing around 400 grammes to India according to Police.

The estimated value of the stock of gold is around Rs.3 million it has been revealed.

Chairmen Of Three State Banks To Be Appeared Before The Bond Commission

Chairmen of three state banks have been requested to
appear before the Presidential commission on Inquiry which investigating on Central Bank bond scam today (04).

Accordingly the Chairman of Peoples Bank Hemasiri Fernando,Chairman of Bank Of Ceylon Roland Perera and Chairman of National Savings Bank Aswin De Silva are due to appear before the Commission today to give an evidence regarding the links between their Banks and the Bond scam.

Verdict Of MP Geetha Kumarasinghe's Appeal To Be delivered On 10 th

The verdict of the special appeal petition filed by the
United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) MP Geetha Kumarasinghe at Supreme court against Appeals court verdict by stating MP Kumarasinghe cannot hold a seat in parliament due to her dual citizenship status. On 10th of October.

The supreme court has completed the hearing of the petition it has been revealed.

MP Kumarasinghe had filed the appeals petition by requesting to dismiss the verdict of court of Appeal.

Police Have Arrested A Person Manufacturing Firearms And Explosives In Mulathivu

Pudukudirippu police have arrested a person with a
large stock of explosives and firearms who had secretly manufactured firearms and explosives inside a house at devpuram in Pudukudirippu area today (03).

During the raid Police have taken into a custody a large stock of explosives and firearms inside the house including ten rifles,ten kilos of T-56 bullets and five hundrad grammes of gun powder.

The suspect arrested by the police has been identified as a person working in the firearms manufacturing unit of LTTE for long time.He had been reported as issued rifles to persons on rental basis.
