Central province governor Niluka Ekanayake has
commenced an investigation on using around 250 primary school children to hold a fall of a saree which was 3800 meter long and considered as world's longest during school hours in Kandy last week ,although a circular issued by the Ministry Of Education strictly banned the using of school children for functions during school hours.
The governor has ordered the Education secretaries of Central province and Katugasthota as well as the secretary of Education in Central province and the principal of the Alawathugoda Primary School to appear before the Central provincial governor's office today (25)for the investigation .
