Due To The Heavy Showers Several Roads And Areas In Ratnapura Are Being Submerged

Due to the heavy showers prevailing since last night (06) several sub ways and low land areas in Rathnapura District are being inundated it has been reported.
 
 Disaster Management Center has informed the people in Ratnapura to be in vigilant on floods as the water level of the Kalu Ganga(River) has reached it's spill level this morning.

Due to the showers Colombo-Badulla,Baduwatte-Idamgoda ,Kandangoda-Gorakaela,Kuruwita-Gorakaela roads are being flooded and low land areas including  Ratnapura,Nivithigala,Ayagama,Palmadulla,Kalawana,Opanayake,Imbulpe,Balangoda,Kiriella,Kiruwita and Ehaliyagoda areas inundated at present and due to it transport activities on these roads have been disrupted.

Colombo-Ratnapura main road has been blocked since this noon due to the flooding in parakaduwa,Ehliyagoda and puwakpitiya areas according to reports.

Four Army Soldiers Were Injured Due To A Hand Grenade Explosion

Four army soldiers have been injured and hospitalized due to a hand grenade explosion occurred during a training session at Air force Base in Morawewa,Trincomalee.

The explosion occurred when a Army Soldier practicing the way of throwing a Hand Grenade  it has been revealed.

Former President's Secretray Lalith Weerathunge And Anusha Palpita Have Been Sentenced Three Year Rigorous Imprisonment

Image result for court orderColombo High Court has today(07) sentenced former Secretary to the President Lalith Weerathunge and former director of Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (TRC) Anusha Palpita a three year rigorous imprisonment each and imposed a fine of Rs.20 million each  over distributing white cloths (Sil Redhi) to devotees of temples by utilized funds belonging to the TRC during previous presidential elections.
By delivering the verdict Colombo High Court Judge Gihan Kulathunge has also advised the two accused to pay Rs.50 million each as compensation to the Telecommunication Regulatory Commission before 20th of September.
The court verdict was delivered after both Lalith Weerathunge and Anusha Palpita found guilty over the white cloths  issue.
Around Rs.600 million belonging to the TRC had spent to distribute white cloths among devotees it has been revealed.
