Former Kalutara OIC Was Sentenced A 19 Year Year Rigorous Imprisonemnt
Kalutara High Court Judge has yesterday(27) sentenced the former OIC of the North Kalutara Police to 19 year rigorous imprisonment over taking an under aged girl from the guardianship of her parents and sexually abused her.
Kalutara High Court judge Amal Thilakeratne has also ordered the former OIC to pay a compensation of Rs.1 million to the abused Child.
The Attorney General has filed a court case against the suspect on removing a 16 year old girl from her parents guardianship and abused her.

Airport Customs Have Arrested A Sri Lankan Attempted To Smuggle Rs.13.5 Million Worth Foreign Currency Notes
The Airport Customs Officers have arrested a Sri Lankan national
attempting to smuggle Rs.13.5
worth Foreign Currency notes out
of the country at Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport last
night(27).
The 54 year old Suspect was heading
to Singapore from Mumbai,India at the time of his arrest.The Customs
Officers have taken into custody Foreign Currencies Swiss Franks,Euros and Norwegian Krones in possession of the suspect.
After being questioned the suspect had been released on Rs.300,000 bail
Bond Commission Has Requested The Main Suspect Of Bond Scam To Provide User Name And Password Of His Mobile
The Bond Commission or the Presidential Commission of Inquiry has today(28) informed the main suspect of the Central Bank Bond Scam ,the Director of Perpetual Treasuries Limited Arjun Aloysias to provide the username and password of his mobile phone he used since October 2016 to the commission.
Bond Commission has taken steps to inform on this to Arjun Aloysias as he refused to handover his Mobile Phone to the Commission.
Earlier Aloysias has stated that his Laptop and Mobile have destroyed in Singapore.

Parliamentary Sessions Adjourned Due To A Tense Situation
Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has adjourned the Parliamentary Sessions this morning(28) until 04th of August due to a tense situation occurred among MP's during a voting taken place regarding the Gazette Notification on making distribution of Fuel an essential Service.
Government has made the distribution of fuel as an essential service with effect from midnight on Tuesday(25) due to the strike launched by Petroleum workers.Under the Gazette Notification petroleum workers should be present at work during the strike and those who fail to report to work consider as vacate from their posts.
