Three Sex Workers And A Manager Arrested In A Brothel House In Thalawathugoda
Thalangama Police have raided a brothel house maintained at a
Luxury house in Thalawathugoda area on pretext of a Massage Center(SPA)
and arrested three female sex workers and a manager working there .
The Luxury House had been used in rental basis for the Brothel House it has been revealed.
The
arrested sex workers are residents of Galewela,Padukke and Kandy and
they are due to produce before the court it has been reported.
After The Strike Ended 251 Bowsers Had Left Kolonnawa And Muthurajawela Fuel Storage Terminals This Morning
Around 251 Bowsers loaded with fuel had left the Fuel Storage
Complexes in Kolonnawa and Muthurajawela this morning(27) after the
Strike launched by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation workers has ended
last night(26) according to sources.
Three Persons Have Drowned After Falling Down Into A Well
Three persons have drowned after falling down into a well at
Athuruwela in Giriulla last night(26) while attending a wedding
reception it has been reported.
One
person had fallen into the well which located within the Reception hall
premises whether the wedding was held and when two persons attempted to
rescue the fallen person by using a rope and a ladder they too had
fallen into the same well according to sources.
Participants
of the wedding have rescued the three persons fallen into the well and
admitted to the Dambadeniya Hospital,however they have succumbed to
their injuries on admission to the Hospital.
Giriulla Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.
Hambanthota Port Workers Postponed The Scheduled Protest Campaign And Strike
The Protest Campaign and the strike scheduled to be launched by the
Hambanthota ,Magampura Port workers today(27) and
tomorrow(28)respectively against selling of 80% of the port to a Chinese
Firm had been temporarily suspended according to the All Ceylon Common
Workers Union.
After the involvement of Army
Personal to resume the distribution of fuel of Ceylon Petroleum
Corporation's Fuel storing complexes which stopped due to the workers
strike ,Hambanthota Port workers suspended their trade union actions
citing that they will face the same fate as fuel workers it has been
reported.
Government has signed the agreement
with a Chinese firm regarding the selling majority of the Hambanthota
Port to the firm last month and the Organizers of the postponed strike
has stated that they believe that government will amend the agreement
and taken over the Hambanthota port to the Sri Lanka Ports Authority.
