Medical Students To Conduct Protest Campaigns From Next Monday(24)
Students attached to all the Medical Faculties in the island are due to launch protest campaigns from next Monday(24) against the attempt to arrest the convener of the Medical Faculty Students Action Committee Ryan Jayathilake and the assaulting of a group of University students in Kekirawa while distributing leaflets against SAITM.
The Government Medical Officers Associaton(GMOA) has today(21) handed over a petition to the Colombo Office of United Nations High Commission for Refugees by stating that the government is adapting a policy of repressing the students of the country .

Boats Withdrawn From Ports To Be Destroyed To Prevent The Spreading Of Dengue-Health Ministry
Ministry Of Health has decided to destroy the Boats withdrawn from the service by Ports throughout the Island to prevent spreading of Dengue through the Dengue Mosquito larvae breeding sites of these boats.
Health Ministry is due to be taken steps to destroy these boats with assistance of Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic resources.It has been revealed that a large number of Dengue Mosquito larvae breeding sites are there inside these unused boats attached to the ports.
This has been widely discussed during a meeting of Government Hospital directors held at the Health Ministry Auditorium today(21).

Private Hospitals/Laboratories Should Issue The FBC Test Reports Of Dengue Patients Within Two Hours-Health Minister
The Private Hospitals and Laboratories should issue the Full Blood Count (FBC) test reports of Dengue Patients within two hours after the blood was taken in order to using it for treating Dengue Patients effectively according to the Minister Of Health Dr.Rajittha Senaratne.
A large number of complaints have been received by the Health Ministry from Doctors by stating that the Private Hospitals and Laboratories are not issuing the Full Blood Count test reports within 2 hours to treat Dengue patients effectively.The FBC test Reports issued after more than two hours are not valid and cannot be used when treating Dengue Patients he has stressed.
Therefore Health Minister has urged the private sector to issue FBC Test reports of Dengue Patients within two hours time without a delay .
If the Private sector continues the delaying of issuing FBC Test reports to Dengue patients all the Dengue patients should have come to the Government Hospitals for treatment and thsese Hospitals issue the FBC Test reports within one hour period and the Colombo National Hospital issue the test reports within ten minutes .
