A 41 Year Old Person Has Drowned In Kandalama Wewa While Bathing

Image result for kandalama wewaA 41 year old person has drowned in Kandalama Reservoir (Wewa) last evening (08) after bathing in an insecure area despite the warnings issued by life saving officers. 

After being informed by the family members of the victim ,Life saving officials had recovered the body of the  drowned person from deep inside the water and sent the victim to Dambulle Hospital for treatment after given the first aid.However the drowned has been declared as dead before admission to the hospital .

Although the life saving officials have marked three areas in Kandalama Reservoir as safe for bathing and display red flags  in those areas,the deceased had removed those flags and began  bathing in an insecure area it has been revealed.

A Sudden Fire Erupted In A Tea Facory Severely Damaged The Factory

Due to a sudden fire erupted this morning(09),A Tea Factory in Gorakaoya area ,Nawalapitiya had been severely damaged and tea powder stored in the factory had destroyed according to sources.

The fire brigade attached to the Kandy Urban Council had doused the fire.The cause for the fire not yet been revealed and no casualties have been reported .

An Adjournment Parliamentary Debate on Adverse Weather Began

Image result for sri lanka parliamentAn adjournment  Parliamentary Debate on the Adverse Weather affected in Several Districts of the country had began this morning(09) and due to continue until 8 p.m tonight.

The Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna (JVP) MP Sunil Handunneththi has stated during the debate that the government do not have a proper plan to face a Natural Disaster situation.The MP had also criticized the process of identifying landslide prone areas . 

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has informed the Parliament   that there will be  no lunch break during the debate and no one can ask questions .

A Wild Baby Elephant Calf Was Killed After Colliding With A Train

Image result for sri lanka trainA Wild baby Elephant calf was killed this morning(09) after colliding with a train traveling from Anuradhapura to Colombo at Gatadivula area on the Northern Rail Track between Galgamuwa and Ambanpola it has been reported. 

The baby Elephant calf was around one month it has been revealed.
