Olympic Silver Medalist Susanthika Jayasinghe To Auction Her Olympic Silver Medal
The Olympic silver medalist and Sri Lankan Sprint Queen Susanthika Jayasinghe has decided to auction her silver medal which she won in Sydney Olympic Games in the year 2000 for 200 meters due to economic difficulties she has stated.
Nick named as "Black Mare in Asia"Susanthika who had received an employment in Ministry Of Sports for a Rs.60,000 monthly salary regarding selecting Athletes for Athletic meets has state that her salary for the months of April and May has been suspended and she has no other option other than selling the prestigious Silver Medal she has won for Sri Lanka in 2000 Sydney Olympics to run her family .

Chinese Government And Chinese Buddhist Association Donated US Dollars 22 Million Goods And Rs.22 Million Respectively For Adverse Weather Victims
Chinese Government has today (03) airlifted US
Dollars 22 million worth essential goods for those displaced due to adverse weather in Sri Lanka.
A special Aircraft carrying the goods imcluding 5000 bed sheets ,600 tents,20,000 life saving coats arrived in Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport today.
To receive the relief aid Ministers Ravi Karunanayake and Anura Priyadarshana Yapa had arrived in the Airport along with chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile Chinese Buddhist Association had today donated Rs.22 million to the President Maithripala Sirisena to be used for the benefit of displaced persons.
While accepting the donation president Sirisena has stated that the donation will be used to build houses for those who have lost their houses due to the adverse weather.

Adverse Weather-Death Toll Arisen To 211-91 Stll Missing
The death toll occurred due to the lanslides and floods
in the country had arisen to 211 while 91 persons went missing and 72 have been injured according to the Disaster Management Center.
Majority of deaths which is 86 had been reported from Ratnapura District and 65 deaths had been reported from Kalutara while 31 deaths reported from Matara district.
More than 700,000 persons have been displaced due to the landslides and floods the Center has stated.
Meanwhile low land areas in Ratnapura,Galle,Matara and Kalutara districts as well as in Kaduwela area still submerged according to the reports.
