Landslide Warnings Issued To Several Areas In Kegalle And Rathnapura Due To Rain
The Disaster Management Center has today(25) issued landslide warnings to several areas in Kegalle and Rathanpura Districts due to the heavy showers prevailing in those areas at present.
Accordingly landslide warnings have been issued to the several areas in Kegalle District including Dikowita and Bulathkohupitiya as well as areas in Rathnapura including Dala,Malwala,Ratnapura,Kiriella,Elapatha,Kuruwita,Palmadulla ,Ehaliyagoda and Embulpe provincial secretariat areas.
In some areas there's a threat of falling stones to the roads the Disaster Management Center has stated.
CID Arrested The Army Brigadier Who Ordered To Shoot Rathupaswela Protesters -Remanded Him Until 31st Of May
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officials have today(25) arrested the Army Brigadier Anura Deshapriya Gunawardena who ordered to shoot the residents of Rathupaswela area in Weliveriya (Western Province)protested by demanding pure water on 01st of August 2013 .
The suspected Army Brigadier has been remanded until 31 st of May after being produced before the Gampaha Chief Magistrate this evening.
Due to the shooting incident occurred during previous regime three persons were killed and several others injured and hospitalized.

Bodies Of A Mother And Her Two And Half Month Old Baby Infant Girl Recovered From Lakshapana Falls
Bodies of a 32 year old mother and her infant baby girl had been recovered this morning(25) from the lower part of the 126 meter high Lakshapana water fall in Nuwara Eliya according to the Norton Bridge Police.
Police believed that the Mother might have committed suicide with her two and half months old baby infant by jumping in to the Lakshapana falls.
The deceased mother left the house with her infant this morning and as she did not return home by evening relatives have complained it to the police.

Norton Bridge-Ginigathhena Main Road Blocked Due To The Collapsed Sand Mounts
Due to the heavy showers prevailing in the Central Hills these days sand mounts have been collapsed to the Norton Bridge-Ginigathhena main road through several places according to reports.
Due to this situation the transport activities in the road has been disrupted today(25) it has been reported.
Police have appealed from the motorists to be vigilant when driving in the main roads of Central Hills.
