Two Youths Were Killed Due To A Sand Tractor-Train Collision In Vavuniya
Two youths were killed due to a Sand transporting
tractor they were travelling in collided with the" Yal Devi" train travelling from Vavuniya to Jaffna in a railway crossing at puliyankulama,Vavuniya this noon (15).
The deceased had been identified as residents of puliyankulama,Vavuniya.
The accident was occurred when the sand transporting tractor tried to cross the rail way crossing at the time the signal lights were not functioning.

Two Persons Were Killed And One Injured Due To A Road Accident On Ingiriya -Meepe Main Road
Two Persons were killed and one was injured and
hospitalized after the Motor Car they were travelling in veering off the road and crashed into a telecommunication post and a wall in angampitiya area on Ingiriya-meepe main road in the wee hours of this morning (15).
The injured person had been admitted to the Homagama Hospital for treatment .
The vehicle carried a group of people who attended a wedding had met with the accident while returning home it has been reported.
Police have suspected that the driver of the motor car may be under an influence of liquor at the time of the accident .

Supreme Court Has Extended The Interim Order Issued On Suspending Appeals Court Decision To Abolish MP Geetha Kumarasinghe's MP Post
The Supreme Court has today(15) extended the interim order issued last week to suspend the Appeals Court decision given to abolish the MP Post of Galle District United Peoples Freedom Alliance(UPFA) MP Geetha Kumarasinghe until concluding the hearing of a petition filed by the MP Kumarasinghe.
The three member Judge Panel of the Supreme Court has also rejected the request made by Attorney General to reject the hearing of the petition filed by MP Kumarasinghe against the Appeals Court judgment .
The Appeals Court has given a verdict to abolish the MP Geetha Kumarasinghe's MP Post after considering a petition filed at the court by two voters in Galle District due to the MP's dual citizenship status.
According to the 19th amendment of the Sri Lankan Constitution no one holds Dual citizenship eligible to contest a local election .
The petition filed by the MP Kumarasinghe against the Appeals Court decision is due to be heard at the Supreme Court on 25th of September ,04th of October and 13th of October.

Gangodawila Magistrate Has Ordered The Prisons Commisssioner To Admit A Remanded Police Constable To Angoda Hospital
The Gangodawila Magistrate has today(15) ordered the Prisons Commissioner to admit the imprisoned Police Constable attached to the Mirihana Police who is in remand over firing a gun shot at the Elephant symbol at the headquarters of governing United National Party (UNP)"Sirikotha" ,Pitakotte on 01st of May to the ward number 21 of the Angoda National Mental Institute(Hospital) for treatment .
The Magistrate has also ordered to further remanded the suspected Police Constable until 29th of May after being produced before the court today.
The 40 year old Police Constable was charged over firing a gun shot at the Elephant Symbol of the UNP headquarters on 01st of May while in duty.
