Railways Department Imposed Strict Measures Aginst Engine Drivers And Rail Guards On Contact Basis
The Sri Lanka Railways Department has decided to consider those Engine Drivers and Railway Guards attached to the Sri Lanka Railways Department on contract basis who have not reported to work today(05) as left their jobs.Some trade unions representing Engine Drivers and Rail Guards too have participated the island wide token strike launched by the Government Medical Officers Association today(05) by demanding solutions for three demands including Publicizing Malabe Private Medical Collage(SAITM).
However trains are today running as usual without any interruption according to the Railways Department.
A One And Half Year Old Girl Child Was Killed Due To A Wall Collapse
A one and half year old girl child was killed after a newly built wall collapsed on her in Mihindupura,Ampara area.The deceased girl was near the wall with another child at the time of the accident it has been revealed.The girl child had succumbed to her injuries on admission to Ampara Hospital.
A 60 Year Old Pedestrian Was Killed After A SLTB Bus Run Over Him
A 60 year old pedestrian was killed as a Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Bus run over him on Habarana-Trincomalee main road .The deceased had been identified as a resident of Lakshahena,Matale.Police have arrested the driver of the SLTB Bus regarding the accident.
