Around 30 Acres Of Land Destroyed Due To A Fire Near A Mountain In Badulle

Around 30 acres of land had been destroyed due to a sudden fire erupted in a land near the Mountain in Alugolla,Badulle it has been reported.

The Fire Brigade of the Badulle Municipal Council and the Badulle Police have doused the fire before spreading it further.

Geology Department Of University Of Peradeniya Stated That There's A Danger Of Exploding The Gohagoda Garbage Mountain

The Geology Department of the University Of Peradeniya has stated today (02) that the Garbage Mountain in Gohagoda,Kandy will caught fire or explode  any time due to the Methane Gas released by the Mountain .

The Ministry Of Provincial Council with the collaboration of University Of Peradeniya had launched an investigation to find out whether there is a crack on the Garbage Mountain which is around 40 years old .

The investigators are due to use a Drone Camera today(02) to inspect the Garbage Mountain .

The Police Constable Who Fired A Gun Shot At UNP Headquarters Has Been Remanded

The Police Constable attached to the Mirihana Police who was arrested over the firing of  a gunshot at a Name Board of the United National Party's(UNP) Headquarters at "Sirikotha"in Pitakotte Yesterday(01) has been remanded until 15th of May by the Nugegoda Magistrate today(02).

The Suspected Police Constable was remanded after being produced before the court.

The Nugegeoda Magistrate has ordered the prison authorities to produce the suspect before a Psychiatrist and obtain a medical certificate on his mental status and submit the report to the Court.

Two Senior Supporters Died After Falling Ill During Joint Opposition Group's May Day Rally

Two senior supporters of the Joint Opposition Group lead by Former President Mahinda Rajapakshe who have  attended the group's May Day Rally held in Galle Face Green in Colombo this evening (01) have died which has predicted as may be due to the dehydration caused as a result of the extremely hot weather condition prevailing in most parts of the country at present .

The two supporters who were  residents of Kandy (80) and Nivithigala(62) areas  have pronounced as dead after being admitted to the Colombo National Hospital .

A Police Constable Was Arrested Over Firing A Gun Shot At UNP Headquarters

Mirihana Police have arrested a Police Constable over firing a gun shot at the Governing United National Party (UNP)  headquarters in "Sirikotha",Pitakotte this evening (01).

During the Police investigations it has been revealed that the suspected  Police Constable had  purposely fired the gun shot.

He is due to be produced before the Nugegoda Magistrate Court tomorrow(02).
