A 77 Year Old Person Was Killed After A High Speed Jerp Ran Over Him

A 77 year old person was killed sfter a high speed Jeep
ran over him on Anuradhapura-Airport main road last night (17).


The deceased had been identified as a resident of Jaya Mawatha (Road) in Anuradhapura.

The Jeep ran over the deceased after the driver unable to control the speed of the vehicle according to the Police.

An Ukrainian National Arrested With Illegally Imported Cigarette Sticks

Police have arrested an Ukrainian National with
illegally imported cigarette sticks in his possession in Pelena,weligama area(Southern Province).

The 28 year old suspect had been arrested as per an information received by the Police.

areas have today (18) staged protest campaigns against dumping garbage in Dompe and Wattala areas.

The residents of Dompe have staged the protest campaign against dumping garbage collected in Colombo to Dompe ,near the Maligawatte sports Grounds in kirindiwela.

A group of residents in Wattala have protested against dumping garbage transported by Wattala Pradesiya Sabha in Muyhurajawela area.The protest held in ferry road ,Saint Jacob road and welisara .

Meanwhile protestors in Wattala argued with Minister John Amarathunge after the Minister arrived at the area during the protest .
