World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that there are 800,000 people suffering from Depression in Sri Lanka according to WHO Sri Lanka office.

By increasing the understanding   of Depression among the general public in Sri Lanka through the media,can reduce stigma among those suffering Depression and lead more people to seek help and recover regarding  the disease.

A Body Of A 44 Year Old Businessman Recovered From Loggal Oya


 A body of a 44 year old Nuwara Eliya based businessman who went missing since three days had been recovered from loggal oya(River) in Mahiyangana area.

Mahiyanganaya Police are conducting an an investigation on the incident .

A 26 Year Old Person Died After Entangled With A High Voltage Power Line

A 26 year old person has died after entangled with a high tension
 power supply line while involving in a renovation work of a building near Matale town.

The deceased has been identified as a resident of Matale District.He has died after being admitted to Hospital.


Kurunagala High Court Sentenced 37 and Half Year Imprisonment For A Bus Driver

Kurunagala High Court judge has today
(20) sentenced a 55 year old CTB(Central Transport Board) bus driver a 37 and half year vigorous imprisonment regarding a bus a accident which killed 21 persons and injured 44 persons on  04th of July 2003 in gokarella area ,Kurunagala .

By announcing the courts longest prison sentence Kurunagala High Court judge Menaka Wijeesundata has sentenced the suspect 28 year imprisonment for killing 21 persons in a bus accident which the bus veered off the road and crashed into a tree ,and 09 and half year imprisonment for injuring 44 persons through the accident.

The court case against the Bus Driver was heard in Kurunagala High Court for 13 years under 07 judges .
