Police Recovered 251 Kilo Grammes Of Kerala Cannabis In Chavakachcheri Area
Police have recovered 251 kilo grammes of Kerala Cannabis smuggled from
India and hidden in a paddy field in Chavakachcheri ,Jaffna last night(09).
The estimated value of the stock of Kerala Cannabis recovered is around RS.20 million according to the Police .
Chavakachcheri Police are conducting an investigations on the incident .

Former Central Bank Governor Given A Six Hour Statement On Central Bank Bond Scam Issue
Former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran had today(10) given a six
hour statement with a break regarding the controversial Central Bank bond scam issue before the Presidential Commissio
Investigating on the Central Bank bond scam issue.
Accordingly the former Cental Bank governor had given the statement three hours in the morning session and three hours in the afternoon .
Upto now all the central bank officials attached to the public debt department had stated by giving evidence before the Commission that the controversial bonds had been issued on 27th of February 2015 by the central bank under the instructions of former Central Bank Governor .

Former Minister Basil Rajapakahe And Another Indicted Over A Land Deal
Former Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapakshe and
Thirukumar Nadesan had been indicted today(10)by the Gampaha High Court over an alleged land deal.
The indictment was served on them under the money laundering act when the case filed against the suspects on alleged 16 acre land deal in malwana area taken up for hearing .
Former Minister Basil Rajapakahe who is the younger brother of former president Mahinda Rajapakahe is currently in USA to receive medical treatment.Court had granted him medical leave up to March this year .
