Financial Irregularities Not Occurred During The Tender Procedures Of Importing Cancer Drugs-Dr.Jayasundara Bandara

Financial Irregularities not occurred during the tender procedures of importing  Cancer Drugs to Sri Lanka recently as stated by some trade unions according to the Director General Of Health Services Dr.Jayasundara Bandara.

Addressing a Press Briefing held in the Ministry Of Health this afternoon(02) Dr.Bandara has stated that some of the Oncologists in Maharagama Apeksha(Cancer) Hospital recently heavily criticized the Cancer Drug imported from Russia to treat Breast Cancer patients and  now they changed their attitudes and prescribing the Drug for Cancer Patients without a doubt .

The experiment regarding  the Cancer Drug imported from Russia has done by the chairman of Independent Medicinal Regulatory Authority Professor Asitha De Silva who specialized on Medicinal Drugs and no one have an ordinary knowledge of Drugs can challenge the knowledge of an expert like his caliber Dr.Bandara has stressed.

Government Workers Are Allowed To Inspect Households And Gardens Without A Permission For Dengue Mosquito Breeding Places

Dengue Control rules and regulations in the country  had  changed by allowing Government Workers  to inspect  any household and garden without a permission for Dengue Mosquito Breeding Places according to the Minister Of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.

"Now Government Workers are free to enter any household and garden to inspect Dengue Mosquito Breeding Places without a permission .Even the fine imposed on a person  by a Court for maintaining Dengue Mosquito Breeding Places has been increased to Rs.25,000 from Rs.5000 "Minister has stressed.

While addressing a function held in Colombo to hand over appointments to 500 Dengue Mosquito Control Assistants appointed to Western Province ,Health Minister has instructed the Assistants to make a target to control spreading of Dengue in Western Province within four months without considering work permanency and basic salary.

President Issued A Special Gazette Declaring 82 Sri Lankan Freedom Fighters As Patriots

President Maithripala Sirisena has today(01) signed and issued a
special gazette notification declaring 82 Sri Lankan freedom fighters of the British Colonial era as Patriots .

President signed and issued the gazette notification at a function held today in the temple of the sacred tooth relic in Kandy.

Kappetipola adikaram (Adigar)who led the Uva-Wellassa freedom Struggle in 1818 against the British rulers and received death sentence from Rulers and Pilimathalawe Adikaram who was deleted to Mauritius island were among  mong those declared as Patriots through the gazette notification .

Members Of Presidential Commission Investigating The Bond Scam Issue Visited Central Bank

Members of the Presidential Commission Investigating the
controversial central bank bond scam issue had  today(01)visited the Central Bank and viewed the issuing of RS.24,000, million worth new bonds to the local market .

Accordingly three members of the commission visited the Central Bank around 8.30 a.m today and stayed there for three hours it has been revealed.

Representatives of the Attorney Generals Department were also present there To view the issuung of bonds.
