Police Have Arrested A Youth With Fake Currency Notes Worth Over Rs.2.9 Million

Police have today (12)arrested a youth with a stock of
fake Sri Lankan currency notes in hiz possession worth over Rs.2.9 million in Moragahahena,Horana.

Accordingly Police have  recovered 1830 fake notes of Rs.1000,1079 fake notes of Rs.500 and 106 fake notes of Rs.5000.

Police have also taken into custody a computer,scanner and a printer used to print fake currency notes.

The suspected youth is due to be produced before the Horana Magistrate tomorrow (13).

Airport Customs Have Arrested Two Sri Lankans While Attempting To Smuggle Gold Out Of The Country

The Airport customs officers have arrested two Sri
Lankan males while attempting to smuggle two gold stripes sheets weighing 400 grammes out of  the country today (12) .

The Gold stripes concealed in the luggage of the suspects according to the Customs.

The estimated value of the Gold stripes  recovered is over Rs.2.5 million it has been revealed.

A Police Inspector In Wellawaya Police Arrested And Released On Bail After Assaulting A Person

Police have arrested a Police Inspector attached to Wellawaya Police
 over assaulting an individual in Wellawaya town on 10 th  of February and produced before Wellawaya Magistrate Court today(12).

The suspect was released on bail after being produced before the court .

The individual who is subjected to assault was admitted to Wellawaya Hospital for treatment after the assault and later transfered to Monaragala Hospital for further treatment .
