Body Of A Youth Who Had Fallen From Sri Lanka's Tallest Water-Fall Bambarakanda ,Recovered

Police along with the residents of Haputhale area had
recovered the body of the youth who died after falling from the Sri Lanka's tallest water-fall "Bambarakanda"water-fall (263 meter high)this morning (10) .

The 21 year old who is a  resident of Bandarawela area had gone to see the water-fall located in Haputhale with his friends in Homagama area it has been reported.

The police and the residents of the area brought the body of the youth which had stuck in the lower section of the water-fall this evening.

Archeology considering to fix a set of CCTV cameras to protect Sigiriya frescoes it has been revealed.

The historical Sigiriya frescoes are in danger as some visitors try to touch and damage them it has been revealed.


A Female Was Killed And Four Others Injured Due To A Three Wheeler-Cab Collision

A seventy year old female was killed and four others
including a small child  were injured and hospitalized due to a Three Wheeler they were travelling in ceashed into a Cab at Dambagahamula Junction in Galewela area(Central Province) this noon (10).

The injured were admitted to the Dambulla Hospital for treatment.The deceased has been identified as  a resident of Bambaragaswewa in Galewela area.

Police have arrested the Cab driver regarding the accident.

An eighty year old female was killed after knocking
down by a Galle-Kandy  bound express train on Balapitiya railway crossing last evening(10).

The deceased has been identified as a resident of Heenatiya, Balpitiya.Body of the deceased has sent to Balapitiya Hospital for post mortum.

Veteran Journalist And Announcer Ariyadasa Pieris Passed Away

A veteran Sri Lankan Radio Journalist and announcer Dr.Ariyadasa Pieris
 has passed away today (10) at the age of 91 while receiving treatment in a hospital .

The late Ariyadasa Pieris who is the father of popular female vocalist charitha priyadarshani Pieris joined the Radio Ceylon in 1951 and presented popular radio programmes like pibidena gayaka parapura (Emerging Singers) and geethayen geethayen.
