Water Levels Of Main Reservoirs Have Reduced Drastically

Due to the dry weather prevailing in most parts of the country at present  the water leveles of main reservoirs  have reduced  to 25 percent according to the Disaster Management Center .

More than 600,000, persons in 13 districts  have been affected due  to the dry weather the Center has stated .

An Unidentified Gunman Shot And Killed A Person At Athurugiriya

An unidentified gunman had shot and killed the

former Driver of Ex MP Duminda Silva who is in death row at Athurugiriya area (In Colombo) this evening.

The deceased who faced charges on two assasinations  died at the spot after the  gun shooting it has been revealed.The assasin has fled from the scene after the shooting.

The cause behind the gun shooting has not yet been revealed and Athurugiriya Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.

A 17 Year Old Was Killed Due To A Motor Cycle-Container Truck Collision

A 17 year old youth was killed due to a Motor Cycle he was riding in collided with a Container Truck on Anamaduwa-Chilaw Road last night(16) .

The deceased who was a resident of Pallama area met with the accident after attempting to enter his Motor Cycle to the main road near Nagawila Junction.

Police have arrested the driver of the Container Truck regarding the accident and the suspect is due to be produced before the Chilaw Magistrate Court.
