A 80 Year Old Person Was Killed And Six Others Injured Due To A Road Accident

A 80 year old person was killed and six others
including two children were injured and hospitalized following the van they travelling in veered off the road and crashed into a tree at Batu Oya on Minneriya-Habarana road(North Central Province)today (01).

The injured were admitted to the Polonnaruwa Hospital for treatment.

The Van met with the accident while on the way to Batticaloa from Colombo it has been reported.

Police Have Arrested Three Persons For Illegal Gem Mining In Rathnapura

Special Police Task Force personal had arrested three
persons for illegal gem mining in Marapana,Rathnapura area.

The suspects were arrested while mining gems without a licence by using machines harmful to the enviornment according to Police.

The suspects were handed over to the Rathnapura office of Gem and Jewelry Authority for further investigations.


A Sudden Fire Erupted In A Computer Repair Center In Panadura Destroyed Part Of The Center

A sudddn fire erupted in a Computer Repair Center

building at Uyanwatta,Panadura (Western Province) destroyed a part of the center completely according to Police.

Fire Brigade in Kalutara along with Panadura Police Officers have doused the fire before spreading it further it has been reported.

The cause for the fire has not yet been revealed.Panadura Police Headquarters has launched an investigation  regarding the incident.


Police Sergeant Was Killed Due To A Motor Cycle-Van Collision In Baddegama

A Police Sergeant was killed following the Motor Cycle
he was riding collided with a Van on Hikkaduwa-Nayapamula Road in Makurugoda,Baddegama(Southern Province) today (01).

The body of the deceased  sent to the baddegama base hospital for an autopsy.

Police have arrested the driver of the van regarding the accident and he is due to be produced before the Galle Magistrate Court today (01).
