Negambo Magistrate Court Has Further Remanded The 19 Protestors Arrested During Private Bus/Three Wheeler Strike

court order සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලNegambo Magistrate Court has today(09) further remanded the 19 persons including Three Wheeler Drivers who had protested last Friday(02) by blocking the Negambo-Galkanda Railway crossing during the private Bus/Three Wheeler strike launched that day ,until 16th of December.

All 19 suspects had been produced before the Negambo Magistrate Court today.

Police have arrested the protestors as they protested by violating the court order issued against the protest and filed a court case against them on charges of damaging the public property,defamed the court ,unlawful gathering and interrupting  police activities .

A Person Was Arrested With A Stock Of 150,000 Illegally Imported Cigarettes At Alawathugoda

illeagal cigarettes සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලAlawathugoda Police have arrested a person transporting around 150,000 illegally imported cigarettes  through a luxury motor car at Alawathugoda area(Central Province) today(09).

The value of the stock of illegal cigarettes transported through the motor car is around Rs.7.5 million according to the Police.

The suspect is a Resident of Matale District and he is due to be produced before the Kandy Magistrate Court.

Health Minister Proposed A System On Air Lifting Accident Victims To Hospitals

airlifting accident victims සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලMinister Of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has stated today(09) that he proposed the Economic Stability Committee headed by Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe  to adapt a system implemented in Germany on Airlifting Accident victims to Hospitals .

"Even President Maithripala Sirisena had informed me to implement a system like this in Sri Lanka as it is the best kind of system suited here due to heavy traffic congestion  prevailing  in most of our  main roads" Minister has stressed.

Addressing a ceremony held at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall(BMICH) to launch "A National Policy on Accident and Emergency Treatment" Minister Dr.Senaratne has stated that the lives of thousands of Accident Victims can be saved  by transporting them to the Hospital during the first hour after an accident occurred known as the "Golden Hour".

Through increasing the road accident fines and other measures taken to minimize the road accidents the Health Ministry and the Government expecting to reduce the road accidents in Sri Lanka by 30% he has stressed.

Meanwhile according to the Ministry of Health ,Rs.7748 million allocated to build new accident services in 28 government hospitals.

More Than 800 Kilo Grammes Of Cocaine Had Recovered From A Ship Docked At Colombo Port

cocaine සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලPolice Narcotics Bureau (PNB)officials had today(09) recovered over 800 Kilo Grammes of Cocaine from a Ship docked at the Colombo Port.

The  PNB Officials who searched the Ship which transported Timber from Ecuador to India as per a Court Order based on  a tip off ,recovered the stock of Cocaine it has been reported.

The Value of the stock of Cocaine recovered not been estimated yet according to Police Narcotic Bureau officials.

Doctors To Be Advised To Prescribe Drugs Under Generic Name Only Soon-Health Minister

Soon after the  setting up of proposed Drug Quality
Assuarance Laboratory funded by Chinese Governmrnt here Doctors will be advised to prescribe drugs for patients under generic name only according to the Minister of Healh Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.

According to the National Drug Policy implemented at present Doctors are allowed to prescribe drugs under trade name too as an option besides prescribing drugs under generic name.

Minister has revealed this during the launching of five western drugs including Paracetamol manufactured by State Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Corporation (SPMC)held at Cinnamon Grand Hotel in Colombo last Wednesday (07).
