Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID)

has yesterday (06) recorded a statement from the convener of the "Ravana Balaya " group Venerable Iththakande Saddhathissa Thero regarding misusing of a state vehicle during previous government.

Venerable Thero has given a statement regarding misusing of a vehicle by him belonging to the former Minister Wimal Weerawansha's ministry.

Customs Officers Have Taken Into Custody Four Motor Cars Imported Illegally From Japan

Customs Officers have today (06) taken into custody

four Motor Cars in containers worth around Rs.250 million and imported from Japan illegally purpoted to have been carrying motor spare parts at Orugodawatta (Colombo) container yard.

Customs Officers had also arrested a Businessman in Maravila area regarding the incident .

Eleven Year Old School Girl Was Killed Due To A Tipper-Motor Cycle Collision

A 11 year old school girl was killed when a Tipper Vehicle collided with a Motor Cycle on Baddegama-

Galle main road (Southern Province)today (06).

The critically injured school girl had succumbed to her injuries on admission to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital according to the Police.

The accident occurred when the Tipper Vehicle attempted to overtake the Motor Cycle which the victimized girl was riding with her mother it has been reported.

Baddegama Police have arrested the driver of the Tipper Vehicle regarding the accident and the suspect is due to produce before the Baddegama Magistrate Court tomorrow (07).
