A 24 Year Old Port Worker Has Created A World Record By Twisting 20 Iron Rods With His Teeth Within A Minute
A 24 year old worker attached to the Jaya Container Terminal of Sri Lanka Ports Authority has today (06) created a new world record by twisting 20 iron rods of 12 mili meters with his teeth within a minute at the Mahaweli Training Training Institute in Modara Harbour Premises.
Janaka Kanchana Mudannayake who is resident in Hanguranketha Area (In Kandy) has created this world record in front of a large gathering including the Minister of Ports Arjuna Ranathunge.
The previous world record was created by a Russian National by twisting 12 steel iron rods with his teeth.

Former Chief Judicial Medical Officer In Colombo Has Today Filed A Bail Application Against Rejection Of His Previous Bail Application
The former Chief Judicial Medical Officer in Colombo Ananda Samarasekera has today (06)filed a revised bail applicatiom at Colombo High Court against the rejection of his previous bail application filed seeking prevention of his arrest over the murder of former Sri Lankan Rugby Player Wasim Thajudeen.
The former Chief Judicial Medical Officer who is charged with transporting body parts of the murdered former Rugby Player to the Malabe Private Medical Collage had filed a bail application recently at the Colombo High Court and it was rejected by the court.
According to the new revised bail application filed today by former Chief JMO Ananda Samarasekera Attorney General and the director of Crimes Section in Crimes Investigations Department have been named as respondents .

Appropriation Bill For 2017 Has Been Gazetted
The Appropriation Bill for the year 2017 had been gazetted and due to be presented to the Parliament on 20 th October according to government sources.
According to the Appropriation Bill for 2017 the estimated expenditure for the services from 01st of January 2017 to 31st of December 2017 is one thousand eight hundred nineteen billion and five million and fourty four thousand rupees.
The Annual. budget Proposals is due to be presented to the Parliament on 10th of November it has been reported.

Smoking Habit Can Be Reduced Through Increasing The Cigarette Prices-Health Minister
Through increasing the Cigarette Prices smoking habit can be reduced by 4-5% according to the Minister Of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.
Addressing a function held at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo the Health Minister has stated that the Health Ministry will soon introduce a plain Cigarette Pack without any picture on it in view of reducing the smoking rate further in the country.
Govenment has recently increased the price of a Cigarette by Rs.7.
Sri Lanka had adapted three methods recommended by the World Health Organization to reduce smoking rate in the country he has stressed.
