Around 200 Flights To Be Cancelled During The Closure Of Katunayake Air Port From January To April Next Year For Maintenance Work

Image result for katunayake airportAround 200 Flights are due to be cancelled as a result of the  scheduled eight hours per day  closure of  Katunayake Bandaranaike International Air Port from January to April in 2017 the Sri Lankan Air Lines has announced today(05).

The Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Air Port is scheduled to be closed for eight hours per day from 8.30 a.m to 4.30 p.m which started from 05th of  January up to April next year   due to a maintenance work of the main runaway.

The Sri Lankan Air Lines is estimated that the Air Lines may have recorded an  income loss around  US Dollars 47 million  due to the cancellation of flights during the maintenance work.

Colombo District Court Has Issued A Interim Injunction Order Against Screening Of A Documentary Film "Usaviya Nihandai"

Video for usaviya nihadai filmThe Colombo District Court has today(05) issued a interim  injunction order  to be effective until 19th of October against the screening of a Documentary Film "Usaviya Nihandai"(Silence In The Courts) made  by an award winning Film Director Prasanna Vithanage which based on an incident occurred in June 1996 where a sitting Magistrate has sexually assaulted a female .

The 57 minute  Documentary Film is earlier  scheduled  to be screened in local theaters from tomorrow(06).

The Colombo District Judge M.U Gunawardena has issued the interim injunction today(05) against  screening of the Documentary Film after considering a petition filed by former Magistrate  Lenin Ratnayake .

Through the petition the former  Magistrate has stated that the Documentary Film is based on a false news story claiming he had  sexually abused a female.

Rugby Player Thajudeen's Murder- Colombo Magistrate Court Has Ordered The Authorities To Send 36 Bone Fragments Collected From Malabe Private Medical Collage For DNA Test

Image result for court orderThe Colombo Magistrate Court has today(05) ordered the authorities to send 36 bone fragments collected from Malabe Private Medical Collage under the investigations carried out to find missing body parts of murdered former Sri Lankan Rugby Player Wasim Thajudeen  to Gene Tech Institute in Colombo for DNA Test.

The  court order was issued today as per the request made by Attorney Generals Department  
when the court hearing of the Rugby Player  Thajudeen's murder was proceeded today.

Accordingly the 36 femurs and jaw bones  collected from the Malabe Private Medical Collage will be submitted to Gene Tech  according to sources.

 During the investigations carried out by the Criminal Investigations Department(CID) on Thajudeen's murder it has been revealed that the body parts of former Rugby Player were missing and they were transported to the Malabe Private Medical Collage by former Chief Judicial Medical Officer in Colombo Professor Ananda Samarasekera who conducted the post mortem of the deceased.

Sri Lanka To Pay US Dollars 170 Million For A Internatonal Air Craft Leasing Company For Cancelling Air Craft Orders-Finance Minister

Sri Lanka need to pay US Dollars 170 million for the World's largest Independant  Air Craft Leasing Company "Aercap Holdings NV" for cancelling the four A-350 Air Crafts ordered by the previous government the Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake has informed the Parliament yesterday(04).

The national carrier Sri Lankan Air Lines do not require long distance Air Crafts like A -350's as the longest flight time of Sri Lankan Air Lines is around ten hours the Minister has stressed.

Although the present government had cancelled the orders of four A-350 Air Crafts  done by previous government another four A-350 Air Crafts are due to be delivered by 2020 Finance Minister has revealed.

Train Derailment Disrupted The Train Services In Kalani Valley Railway Line

Train Services in Kelani Valley Railway line had disrupted this morning due to a derailment of a Train at Maharagama.

Steps are currently  underway to restore the Train Services of the Railway line according to the Railway control room.
