Colombo Additional Magistrate Has Issued An Order Preventing Overseas Travel To Five Businessmen Regarding The Killing Of Bambalapitiya Based Businessman

Image result for crimes sceneColombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Pieris has today(25)issued an order preventing overseas travel to five businessman in connection with the murder of killing of abducted Businessman Mohomad Shakeeb Sulaiman whose body was recovered in Mawanella yesterday(24) evening.


The overseas Travel Ban Order was issued to the five businessman whowere in hiding after the Businessman Sulaiman's abduction and murder as per the request made by Colombo Crimes Division.

Sulaiman who was abducted by an unknown person/persons on last Monday  believed to be killed on the same day he was abducted although someone close to the place where his body was recovered gave a phone call and demand a ransom money of Rs.20 million for the release of the businessman the Police have stated.

Police Teams which are conducting investigations on the murder ate currently questioning several businessmen and friends who are closely associate with the deceased it has been reported.

Passport Office In Colombo To Close It's Official Activities Tomorrow(26)

Image result for sri lankan passport officeThe head office of the Department Of Immigration and Emigration(Passport Office) will be closed down tomorrow(26) for official duties in view of shifting the Office Building to it's new venue at "Suhurupaya"Battaramulla (Colombo)from the current location at Punchi Borella(Colombo) it has been reported.

The official activities of the Passport Office are  due to commence at it's new location in Battaramulla on this Monday(29).

As a result of the closing official activities of the Passport Office in Colombo it's divisional offices in Matara,Kandy and Jaffna too will closed their activities tomorrow.

Special Commodity Levy Imposed On Imported Potatoes Has Been Increased

Image result for potatoThe Special Commodity Levy imposed on imported  potatoes has been increased by Rs.5 with effect from today(25) according to the Ministry Of Finance.

Accordingly the levy has been increased from Rs.35 to Rs.40 the Ministry has stated.This step has been taken to offer a standard price for the potato production of local potato farmers  the Ministry has further added.

Around 12 Passengers Were Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Bus Collission At Warakapola

Image result for accidentAround 12 passengers  were injured and hospitalized this morning following an accident occurred due to two buses  collided each other on Warakapola-Thulhiriya Road  (Sabaragamuwa Province).

The injured were admitted to the Warakapola Hospital for treatment.

The accident has occurred when a Ceylon Transport Bus(CTB) was hit by a Private Bus from behind it has been reported.
