Police Have Detained A Person With An Illegal Fire Arm At Puttalam

The Police have detained a person with an illegal firearm in his possession at mee oya area in Puttalam(North Western Province).

The fire arm that kept in his possession suspected as using to hunt animals according to sources.He is due to produce before Puttalam District Court.

Two Treasure Hunters Had Detained At Mathugama

Mathugama Police have detained two persons who had illegally excavated an area in Bopitiya,Mathugama (Western Province) in search of treasures.

Police have also taken into custody around 250 grammes of gun powder and equipment used to excavation in possession of the suspects.

The suspects are residents in Mathugama and Dodangoda areas.
