Sri Lankan Air Lines Has Appointed Sri Lankan Born Bollywood Actress Jaqualine Fernandes As Their Brand Ambassador

Sri Lanka's national carrier the Sri Lankan Air Lines has appointed the Sri Lankan born Bollywood Actress Jaqueline Fernandes as it"s new Brand Ambassador it has been reported.

The chairman of the Sri Lankan Air Lines Ajith Dias has signed an agreement with Jaqueline regarding this appointment at Mumbai in India recently.

The Sri Lankan born Bollywood Actress has been appointed to the Brand Ambassador post of Sri Lankan Air Lines in addition to former Sri Lankan Cricketers Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardena who are still functioning as brand ambassadors of Sri Lankan Air Lines.


A Special Police Protection Provided To Bandaranaike Samadhi As Per The Request Made By Former President Mrs.Kumarathunge

As per the request made by former President Mrs.Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumarathunge a special police protection has been provided to the 'Bandaranaike Samadhi" at Horagolla ,Gampaha (In western province) where the bodies of former Prime Ministers S.W.R.D Bandaranaike and Mrs.Sirimawo Bandaranaika since this morning according to the Police Department.

As there are reports that the protestors in the protest march "Jana Satana" launched by the Joint Opposition Group were planning to damage the Bandaranaike Samadhi while passing through that place today ,the former president Mrs,Kumarathunge has requested a police protection  for the Samadhi it has been reported.

The police protection for the Samadhi has been provided according to the instructions issued by Inspe tor General Of Police Pujith Jayasundera.

Elections Commission Chairman Has urged The Authorities Not To Delay Local Government Elections

Image result for elections commission sri lankaThe chairman of the Elections Commission Mahinda Deshapriya has urged the Minister of Local Government and Provincial Councils Faizar Musthapha not to delay the local government elections further during a meeting held between them it has been reported.

The Elections Commission Chairman has stated that the public have criticized the commission due to the delay of the local government elections.

The elections for the local government institutions should be held at least by early next year he has stressed.

The terms of the all 335 local government bodies had  been expired it has been reported




Sri Lanka Has Defeated Australians By 106 Runs In The Rain Hit First Test Match Played At Pallekele International Cricket Stadium

Sri Lanka's off spinner Rangana Herath bagged five Australian Wickets including that of Australian Skipper Stephan Smith in the final day of the first test match played with visiting Australians.

Australia who chased a challenging total of 268 runs in the final day were all out for 161 runs mainly due to Rangana Herath's performance.This win is Sri Lanka's second test win against Australia.

Kusal Mendis who has scored 176 runs in the Sri Lanks's second innings has been adjudged as the Man of The Match.

Scores Sri Lanka 117 and 353 .Australia 203 and 161.
