The chairman of the Elections Commission Mahinda Deshapriya has urged the Minister of Local Government and Provincial Councils Faizar Musthapha not to delay the local government elections further during a meeting held between them it has been reported.The Elections Commission Chairman has stated that the public have criticized the commission due to the delay of the local government elections.
The elections for the local government institutions should be held at least by early next year he has stressed.
