Pakistan International Air Lines Signed An Agreement To Lease Three Air Buses From Sri Lankan Air Lines
The Pakistan International Air Lines (PIA) has today (29) signed a contract agreement with Sri Lankan Air Lines to lease three A-330 Air Buses from Sri Lankan Air Lines.
The contract agreement was signed after a series of negotiations between both sides and under the contract the first Air Bus will be delivered to Pakistan Air Lines by next week and the remaining two in coming months it has been reported.
The contract agreement was signed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the PIA Bernd Hildenbrand,The chairman of Sri Lankan Air Lines Ajith Dias and Chief Executive Officer of the Sri Lankan Air Lines Captain Suren Ratwatte during a ceremony held in Colombo today.

Thulhiriya And Mahara Magistrate Courts Have Rejected The Requests Made By Police Stations To Issue Court Orders Against Joint Opposition's Protest March
The Thulhiriya and Mahara Magistrate Courts had today (29) rejected the requests made by Police to issue court orders to prevent Joint Opposition's "Jana Satana" Protest March (Paadha Yathra) from entering warakapola,Kadawatha and Kiribathgoda cities and holding meetings there.
Accordingly the Thulhiriya Magistrate Court has rejected the request made by the police to issue a court order to prevent the protest march from entering Warakapola Town and the Mahara Magistrate Court has rejected the similar requests made by Kadawatha and Kiribathgoda Police Stations.

The Cigarette Smoking Among Sri Lankans Is On The Decrease-Health Ministry
The Cigarette Smoking percentage among Sri Lankans is now stands as 21% according to the Ministry Of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine.This percentage is a clear reduction from the previous percentage and Smoking among youth in Sri Lanka is also on the decrease the Ministry has stated.
The Minister Of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne is due to introduce a Plain Cigarette Pack like in Australia with only the Brand of the Cigarette will be displayed in the Pack and surrounding surface of the Pack is empty within one month period the Ministry has stressed.
The Health Minister has stated during a meeting held at the Health Ministry recently that he along with President Maithripala Sirisena will jointly submit a Cabinet Memorandum on Next Tuesday to the Cabinet to increase the taxes of Cigarettes from 72% to 90%.
By doing so will try to get remove all the VAT(Value Added Tax) imposed on health services at present the Minister has further added.

Former Secretary Of The Finance Ministry P.B Jayasundera Has Been Questioned By Presidential Commission Of Inquiry
The former secretary of the Ministry Of Finance P.B Jayasundera has today(29) questioned by the Presidential Commission Of Inquiry(PRECIFAC) and recorded a statement from him regarding the on going investigations on importing of 100,000 metric tonnes of Rice in 2014 without Cabinet Approval.
The former Finance Ministry Secretary has been alleged as purchasing the above mentioned shipment of Rice from an Indian Company without getting Cabinet Approval.Due to this Sri Lankan Government had incurred a loss of Rs.5 billion according to the Presidential Commission.

A Team Of Doctors From East Timor Is In Sri Lanka To Study On The Steps Taken Regarding Violance Against Women
The Team of Doctors representing East Timor lead by the Director General Of Health Services in that country currently is in Sri Lanka to study the steps taken by the Ministry Of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine regarding Violence against women .
The Team of East Timorean Doctors had meet the Director General Of Health Services Dr.Palitha Mahipala at the Ministry Of Health in Colombo and discussed on this issue according to the Ministry Sources.
The East Timorean Team has decided to get the assistance of Sri Lanka's Health Ministry to train Health Staff and to formalized the Judicial Medical Education in that country the sources have stated.The Team is due to visit Awissawella and Kalutara Districts during their stay here.
