The Increased Vat Tax To Be Reduced By Next Year- Finance Minister
The government has increased the value added tax(Vat) recently to pay off the debt collected by previous government led by former president Mahinda Rajapakshe and for nothing else the Finance Minister Ravi Kaunanayake has stated today(09).
The increased Vat will be reduced by next year he has further added.
The government has selected Vat tax to increase as it placed fewer burden on the masses the minister has futher added.

Around 800 Metric Tonnes Of Salawa Army Camp Fire Debris Removed During Last Eight Days
Around 800 metric tonnes of debris collected due to salawa army camp fire had been removed from the area during last eight days according to Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government bodies.
Seethawaka Pradeshiya Sabha (local government body) with the assistance of Homagama and Dompe Pradeshiya Sabha's are carrying out the removing process of salawa debris the Ministry has stated.
Around 15 backo and tipper mechines have been used for this process it has been reported.The western provinvial council department has estimated that over rs.2.2 million need to spend for the removal of salawa army camp fire debris.

Police Narcotics Bureau Officials Have Detained Two Maldivian Nationals With A Haul Of Heroin
The Police Narcotics Bureau officials had arrested two Maldivian Nationals with around 385 Grammes of Heroin in their possession at Dehiwala(In Colombo) today(09).
The arrested suspects are currently in under detention orders.Police believed they may have involved in a Drug Racket operated between Paksitan and Maldives through Sri Lanka.

Two Police Officers Were Injured And Hospitalized Due To An Accident Occurred In Puttalam-Anuradhapura Road
An Assistant Superintendent of Police(ASP) and a Constable were injured and admitted to Puttalam(In North Western Province) Hospital following the double cab vehicle there were traveling in veered off the road and crashed into a Margosa Tree in the palugassegama area on Puttalam-Anuradhapura Main Road on wee hours today(09)
The two police officers were traveling from Mulathivu to Colombo when they met with the accident.Police have suspected the Police Constable who was driving the vehicle may fallen to sleep at the time of the accident.
Both Police Officers are in stable condition according to sources.
