Around 18 persons Injured Due To A Lorry Accident In Galnawa

Around 18 persons including 06 children have been injured and hospitalized this evening after the lorry they were traveling in toppled over in tambuththegama -galnawa road . 

The injured were admitted to the Anuradhapura Teahing Hospital for treatment.

A Sudden Fire Had Erupted At A Peradeniya University Building

A sudden fire haderupted at the Engineering Faculty building of the University Of Peradeniya few hours ago.


The fire fighters who arrived at the scene have managed to douse the fire with the help of army personal it has been reported.

No casualties have been reported due  to the fire and the cause of it still not  revealed.

Health Minister Instructed Authorities To Issue Stents Free Of Charge For Government Hospital Heart Patients

The Minister of Health,Nutrition and Indegenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senatatne has instructed the health authorities to issue stent device which use to prevent blocks in artery related to heart free of charge for government hospital heart patients who needs it .

At present government hospital heart patients who need the device have to purchase it through private sector for higher prices.
To issue stents free of charge to government hospital heart patients Health Ministry is due to allocate Rs.1.2 billion annually the ministry sources have stated.

Strict laws should be introduced for those who are maintaining dengue mosquito breeding places within their premises including prison sentence according to minister of provincial councils and local government bodies faizar mustapha.

Without strict laws spreading of dengue could not be controlled he has. stated.He has revealed these facts while addressing a dengue review meeting held in hector kobbakaduwa research center in.Colombo .
According to the latest statistics available more than 21.000 dengue patients have been reported from.the island during last six months of this year with 35 deaths.

Nine Persons Injured And Hospitalized Due To An Accident Occurred On Southern Expressway

Nine persons including two females were injured and hospitalized  following an accident occurred on the southern expressway near millaniya area today(03)according to the police.

The injured were admitted to the nagoda hospital for treatment.


The accident  occurred after a van the injured were traveling in skidded off the road and hit the fence the police have stated. The accident occurred  when the driver was a sleep.
