The Minister of Health,Nutrition and Indegenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senatatne has instructed the health authorities to issue stent device which use to prevent blocks in artery related to heart free of charge for government hospital heart patients who needs it .
At present government hospital heart patients who need the device have to purchase it through private sector for higher prices.
To issue stents free of charge to government hospital heart patients Health Ministry is due to allocate Rs.1.2 billion annually the ministry sources have stated.
