A 40 Member Sri Lankan Buddhist Delegation Arrived In Pakistan For A Religious Tour

A 40 member Sri Lankan Buddhist Delegation including senior Sri Lankan Buddhist Monks and Scholars led by Sri Lanka's Parliamentary Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has yesterday(22) arrived in Pakistan for a week long religious tour.

The aim of this tour is to introducing the Pakistan's rich Buddhist History and reviving the heritage of Pakistan's 'Gandhara Trail" the commercial and cultural hub of UNESCO's world heritage site of "Taxila" according to reports.

During the visit the Sri Lankan Buddhist Delegation is due to visit places with some of the rarest historical Buddhist Holy Relics including Mardan,Swat,Takht-I -Bahi and Peshawar,Taxila and Lahore Museums.

Former President Has Left For Thailand To Attend Religious Ceremonies

Image result for former president rajapaksaThe Former President Mahinda Rajapaksha has left for Thailand today (23) to attend religious ceremonies organized at several Buddhist Temples there according to reports.

This is the first time that the former President went abroad since his defeat at the Presidential Election held on 08th of January 2015.

The Former President who left for Thailand accompanied by former external affairs minister Professor G.L Pieris is due to return to the country on 26th of April.

A 82 Year Old Bus Passenger Has Died By Fallen From A Foot Board Of The Bus

Image result for accident graphicA 82 year old bus passenger has today (23) fallen to road whilst travelling on  the foot board of a Bus and died  at Ambagasdova Junction on Ladduwa-Welimada Road according to the Uva-Paranagama Police.

The Police have detained the Bus Driver regarding the incident,

Police Narcotic Bureau Officials Have Arrested Two Maldivian Nationals With 1 Kilo Gramme And 280 Grammes Of Heroin

Image result for detain clip artThe Police Narcotic Bureau Officials have today(23) detained two Maldivian Nationals who stayed at a Hotel in Bamabalapitiya(In Colombo) with 1 Kilo Gramme and 280 Grammes of Heroin in their possession.

The Police Narcotic Bureau had detained two Maldivian Nationals of the ages 28 and 30 years under the raids carried out by targeting the Heroin Network Connected to Sri Lanka,Maldives and Pakistan  it has been reported.  The Maldivian Authorities have provided their assistance in this regard according to Sri Lanka Police.
